Judul:Joule Thief Surplus Flash Circuit Lights
info:These are two JT lights I made utilizing a no name surplus flash circuit I obtained from Electronics Goldmine for $.69 each (US). These boards were designed for an AA battery and appear to be almost as good (not quite) as the AA Fuji boards, which I find very hard to find around here anymore. These look very similar to a Kodak board but I did not find any matching schematics. Hacking these boards turned out to be simple. Just make sure to discharge the large cap prior to modification by using an insulated handled tool. These boards put out high voltage so, if you do not know what you are doing, do NOT attempt this at all. The high voltage can cause serious injury or death. More information at Overunity.com in the Joule Thief topic area. So, this is very cheap to make: $.69 for circuit board, $7.00 for the 27 chip Lights Of America LED bulb, $2.00 for the box and a little wire, an on-off switch, some neos and a little paint. They operates on free "dead" depleted batteries and put out a lot of light for a very long time. Avast. PS The LOA bulbs do not require gutting or modification.

Michael Brymer:Remake this video please. Too blurry and unless you have been doing this before difficult to understand.
muddymuddymuddmann:i just found the old one i made a few years ago after watching your vids. i tested it, and got bit again. I decided to stick it down to a wooden panel with some silicone sealant. Man it's much easier to handle now.. lol. MUDDy
Pirate Labs:I still get bit every now and again....it still hurts and you would think I would know better.....ha ha. Yes, no more CFL's for me....they break and have mercury. These LOA bulbs are great, bright and cheap. The plastic "bulb" part is practically indestructible too. Bill
DiyEcoProjects:HI Muddy / Bill... i made one a while back to power a CFL but the one bill has with led bulb seems Waaaayyy better. I'll have to dig the board out. Also it gave me a nasty bite one time LOL never again. Be careful everyone
muddymuddymuddmann:YOU GOT THAT RIGHT. THANKS BILL. MUDDY
Pirate Labs:Thanks man, I really appreciate it. Bill
Pirate Labs:Thanks MuDDy. Cheap boards while you can get them. Bill
Pirate Labs:Hey, it's a $40 mini cam I bought 4 years ago. It is all I can afford at the moment. It does shoot HD though.
GBluer:Great Video Bill, looks like a very nice camping light.
Raymond Earle:Great audio tutorial. Pity video quality was down. Unfortunately Goldmine don't ship to UK. Many thanks.
muddymuddymuddmann:SWEET! NICE VIDEO. I WANT ONE. MUDDy
Brian Smith:You know great information but very poor video, please use manual for close up shots.
Pirate Labs:Thank you very much Kyle, I really appreciate that. Very cheap boards while we can get them. Bill
KyleCarrington:great work bill, very doable approach to awesome camp lights
Pirate Labs:Very cheap to make and they put out a lot of light. Bill
